Stability Beyond Skills

Vocational Training

NCCER-accredited training that builds real skills, real confidence, and real opportunity. Our VT program equips returning citizens with industry-recognized certifications in the construction trades, ensuring they enter the workforce with competitive, in-demand skills. Participants receive hands-on instruction, safety training, and guided practice that prepares them for the expectations of modern job sites.

Beyond technical skills, we focus on professionalism, reliability, communication, and teamwork—the qualities employers value most. By the time participants complete the program, they’re not just employable; they’re prepared to excel. Every certification earned, every tool mastered, every skill gained becomes a brick in the foundation of a new life.

Job Placement

Getting a job after prison isn’t just “hard”—it’s a obstacle course. When you come home, everybody tells you to “get back on your feet,” but nobody hands you the map. Doors close. Applications get ignored. Background checks hit like a brick wall. And even when someone finally calls you back, the doubt in their eyes says they’re waiting for you to mess up.

That’s why our job placement isn’t some polite résumé workshop. It’s real support for real life with people who have firsthand knowledge of the struggle.

We walk with you through the uncomfortable parts—document acquisitions, interviews, paperwork, the first day on the job when you’re trying to prove yourself. We connect you with employers who aren’t scared of your past and won’t treat you like a risk instead of a human being. And we don’t disappear once you get hired. We stay in your corner—coaching, checking in, helping you navigate the moments that could knock you off track.

Let’s be honest, landing a job is about income. But it’s also about getting your respect back—achieving economic independence or showing your kid(s) you kept your promise. But most importantly, it’s about proving to yourself that you’re not who you used to be — you’re better than before.

Housing Assistance

Without stable housing, every other form of progress is at risk. For returning citizens, housing isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s the single most important predictor of long‑term stability. Yet it’s also the hardest resource to secure. Many come home to waitlists, application denials, and rental barriers that have nothing to do with who they are now, only who they used to be.

Our Housing Assistance program reduces the risk of homelessness by providing rental support, transitional housing options, crisis‑shelter connections, and partnerships with felon-friendly landlords willing to offer second‑chance opportunities. These aren’t temporary fixes—they’re strategic interventions that dramatically lower recidivism and increase employment retention.

When participants have a safe, stable place to live, everything else becomes possible:

  • They can focus on training instead of survival.

  • They can show up to work consistently.

  • They can reunite with family and rebuild trust.

  • They can plan for a future instead of reacting to a crisis.

For donors and grant partners, this is one of the highest‑impact investments you can make. Stable housing doesn’t just change one life — it strengthens families, neighborhoods, and the entire community.

A roof is more than shelter. It’s another brick in the foundation every second chance stands on.

Income Support

You can’t rebuild your life when you’re in survival mode. When people come home, the world expects them to “get it together” instantly—find a job, pay rent, show up on time, stay focused, stay positive. But nobody talks about the part where you’re broke, stressed, and one unexpected bill away from slipping right back into a bad decision.

Our income support is built for that exact moment. It’s not charity. It’s not a handout. It’s a bridge—something to give you room to breathe at the start when development is its most critical—a solid ground to stand on while you’re training, being job‑placed, and trying to keep your head above water.

We use a sliding‑scale system because everyone’s situation is different. This support allows you to secure the basic necessities faced upon release. It also gives employers confidence, too—they get to see your work ethic without the chaos of financial crisis dragging you down. And it gives you the chance to show up as your best self, not your most desperate one.

Stability isn’t a luxury. We believe it’s the foundation of a real second chance

Financial Literacy

Financial literacy isn’t just personal—it’s community strength. For many returning citizens, money has always been tied to survival, crisis, or instability. Our Financial Literacy program that narrative by teaching the skills that lead to long‑term independence—not just for the individual, but for the families and neighborhoods they support.

Participants learn the fundamentals that create real financial footing: budgeting, banking, credit repair, savings strategies, and long‑term planning. We use proven tools, including the Bank of America Financial Literacy Training Program, to ensure every lesson is practical, accessible, and built for real‑world application.

But this isn’t just about managing dollars. It’s about building confidence. It’s about understanding how money works so it stops being a source of fear and becomes a tool for growth.

When someone becomes financially stable, the impact ripples outward:

  • Children grow up with more security.

  • Households become more resilient.

  • Communities gain contributors instead of people stuck in survival mode.

  • Generational cycles begin to shift.

Financial literacy is one of the most powerful forms of empowerment we can offer.‍ ‍Because when a person learns to manage their money, they gain the freedom to manage their future—and strengthen the community around them.

Technology Literacy

Digital confidence creates personal freedom—and stronger communities. Today, almost every opportunity—from applying for a job to managing your benefits to staying connected with family friends—runs through a screen. For many returning citizens, that digital world feels like a locked door. Our Technology Literacy program turns that door into an open pathway.

We teach the essentials that modern life demands: setting up and managing email, navigating online applications, building a professional digital presence, and using basic software with confidence. These aren’t just technical skills — they’re tools that restore independence.

When someone learns how to communicate online, submit forms, track their schedule, or access resources without relying on others, their entire world expands. They gain the ability to advocate for themselves, stay organized, and move through society with confidence instead of hesitation. Ignorance no longer becomes the reason for failure. We’re not implying that this program will make you a know-it-all, but it will empower you to know how to come to know anything you’re willing to use technology to get at its heart-matter.

And the impact doesn’t stop with the individual. Digital literacy strengthens families and communities:

  • Parents can stay connected to their children’s schools.

  • Workers can access better jobs and training.

  • Households can manage finances, appointments, and responsibilities more effectively.

  • Communities benefit from members who are informed, engaged, and empowered.

Technology shouldn’t be a barrier to reentry—it should be a bridge. When someone becomes digitally capable, they gain more than skills. They gain access, opportunity, resourcefulness, efficiency, and the power to shape their own future.

Mental Health Assistance

Supporting emotional stability is essential to successful reentry. Our Mental Health Assistance program provides trauma‑informed counseling, stress‑management strategies, and practical coping tools tailored to the unique challenges faced by returning citizens. We focus on addressing the psychological impacts of incarceration, rebuilding emotional resilience, and equipping participants with skills that support long‑term stability.

Through partnerships with licensed clinicians and community mental‑health providers, participants receive access to consistent, evidence‑based care that strengthens decision‑making, improves workplace readiness, and supports healthier relationships.

When individuals gain emotional stability, they’re better prepared to succeed—at home, at work, and within the community.

Addiction Assistance

Recovery support that strengthens stability, accountability, and long‑term success. Our Addiction Assistance program provides evidence‑based counseling, peer‑support connections, and structured pathways to treatment for individuals working to overcome substance‑use challenges. We focus on addressing the underlying factors that contribute to addiction while building the coping skills and support systems necessary for sustained recovery.

Participants gain access to qualified professionals, sponsor networks, and community programs that reinforce accountability and promote healthier decision‑making. This integrated approach reduces relapse risk, improves employment readiness, and supports overall reentry success.

When individuals receive consistent, informed recovery support, they’re better equipped to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to their families and communities.
